Paxtang:

Old D-40 is a late 1940's Ward LaFrance, equiped with "Hardie" Guns, made in Philadelphia, PA. While I know Hardie made high pressure fog guns for the military and the fire service from WW II until the 1960's, does anyone know the history behind the Hardie Company and the development of the "Hardie" gun? <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/3_12_21.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='3_12_21' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Captain.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Captain' />

Packard was long gone by this era. This is either a Buick or an Oldsmobile ambulance.

That is in fact a 1963 Oldsmobile. Can't tell who built the body, though.
Reply
Most probably a Cotner-Bevington body as they used a lot of Olds and Buick models.

Although the website states this is a Dodge, it is not. It is a Reo/Hale. I would say a 1936 or 7.

The raked windshield is typical of what Hale was installing in that era. The seat and bodylines also indicate it is a Hale.
