were any of the Macks engines that st. louis purchased with F673 Diesels or were they running the 707C gas motor in them?

Andy- My best guess is that they were all still gasoline powered at this time. The Mack serial number would indicate that they were gasoline powered. I believe Mack's with diesels had a "D" after the "C95F" in their serial numbering.

I think you have to load 4" & 5" flat, the couplings need to feed out, they can get stuck fron a side load.

In 1963 the St. Louis Fire Department puchased this 85-foot Snorkel. It was assigned to Snorkel 4 in 1965 as seen in this photo. The department listed it as a FWD, while Duane had it listed as a 1863 TCMI/Pittman #105582.

The department also received this 1963 Seagrave 1000/300 pumper that year, Seagrave #P4950, StLFD #140.

The 1963 Mack B tractor (B85F-1479) purchased to tow the 1942 Seagrave 100-foot aerial was gone by the time Duane visited in 1976.



The department purchased two of these tough looking 1964 FWD/Central 1000/300 pumpers in 1964.

In 1966 the department received this Mack C/Baker 75-foot Tower Ladder, Mack #C85FAP-1343 which was originally assigned as Snorkel 14 (still lettered that way) and Snorkel 8 as pictured here.

Also in 1966 the department received this 1966 Mack C/Marion rescue, StLFD #8, which was assigned as Rescue Squad 2 at Station 9.

In 1967 the department purchased a Seagrave 100-foot TDA, Seagrave #Q4320, StLFD #125. I couldn't find a photo of this in Duanes 1976 slides.



Here is a photo that has me totally confused. It is of a Seagrave pumper lettered for Engine 25. It is not listed in Duane's pocket notebook at all. What's stranger is that Duane also has a photo lettered "Engine 25" with a 1968 Mack R pumper.



Please help me identify this pumper!!!!

Great Shots Steve. Very Very enjoyable looking at all the old photos.





Also on a side note the STLFD still uses the same scanner freq (154.130) and they still have the same call sign also.
