Great shots. The Bobcat looks neat.

In 1930, the Texas Legislature authorized Texas A & M College to run a short trial course in firefighting technology. This program was placed under the Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Departments. The success of this trial program has since morphed into the Fireman’s Training School that is legendary in the state of Texas.

Texas A & M was authorized to purchase equipment for the training school and for fire protection at the college. The pieces of equipment purchased included a 1929 Mack Model BK Type 90 Triple Combination Pumper (750 GPM), a 1932 Mack Model BG Type 50 Pumper (500 GPM) and a Mack Model BG Type 50 Ladder Truck. The Type 90 Pumper was a demonstrator that Mack used throughout the country showing it as one of the first non-chain drive apparatus. All three rigs were delivered to Texas A & M in the summer of 1932.
