Independent Hose Co. of Frederick parading their 1953 Mack L-95 1000/300 "city" engine in the mid 50's. IHC #1 had 2 1953 Mack L's the other having a 4- door cab and 750/400 which was known as the "county" engine. Independent at that time was quartered in downtown Frederick, but had primary responsibility outside the city limits for a large part of then rural Frederick County.

The 53 Mack ended up back with IHC in the mid-90's after years bouncing around in private hands, however the Mack would be sold again by IHC, fortunately most of the MD. buff contingent got to shoot it before it left.

United's 1939 Ahrens Fox IT model parading in the mid-50's. This is still owned by the company, but its appearances have become infrequent.

Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company ran this 1954 Ward LaFrance as Engine 121 that carried 500 gallon of H20 and a 750 pump on board. It would be ran until 1976 then replace by a '76 Seagrave.

I compared the photo of Ellicott City's 1951 Chevrolet/Oren and there is a few differences. The EC pumper was considered

a mini pumper only having a 200GPM pump. It had a pair of running lights just above the bumper not on the fenders and the

spotlights were higher up on the door post. There's a good possibility that it wasn't the same truck?
