Massachusetts Fire Apparatus
Norwood Ambulance 1 an International/Horton ALS ambulance...I'm not a fan of ambulances but this is a sharp looking rig.

An International/Braun ambulance labeled "A3" with Norwood, Sharon, Canton, Westwood, and Randolph listed so I assume this is their regional reserve ambulance

White are for private passenger cars, blue are corporate, fleet, state or municipal.

Sorry, but I am none of the above and have a blue tag. I've also randomly seen orange and yellow, and my other one is white. We have a mix of blue and white on the ambulances at work.

I still don't think the color means anything.

That's a lot of questions. Let's see, most of the rigs are either donated or purchased cheaply used. The bus is a former school bus which he got cheaply due to some sort of structural defect in the roof. (The state won't let that particular model carry students anymore.) At least part of the funding comes as donations from the FD's that Rehab 5 serves. (Both the union locals and in some cases the cities.) The staffing is all volunteer.

Dispatching is via Nextel. I have 3 DC numbers for RH5 in the watch room at the station. If that doesn't work, I can reach them through the county mutual aid control point in Beverly, or via Peabody Fire Alarm. I believe they also have automatic agreements with a few cities to respond above a certain alarm level without being specifically called.

I have to second the Bigdog's comments. Roger and his crew do wonderful work, and they do it well. They could be a model for some of the other volunteer support organizations.

Thanks for the answers fellas. I was just curious, and wasn't trying to ask those questions in an inquisition- type of way. Seems like it could be ALOT of money out of one man's pocket if he wasn't getting donations from somewhere.

Thank God you guys have Roger. Seems like he does a GREAT JOB!!!!

Everyone here pretty much hit it on the head...... Roger started this Non profit company with an old camping trailer and a bronco in 1986 and has truly built it in to something amazing.

He likes his volunteers to be in this line of work (Firefighters, EMT's, Dispatchers) because He knows what we go through on the job and knows the toll it takes on us.

Like Mack said Both Rogers and my number are in all the Fire alarm Nextels. So you will usually get one of us..... Calling Beverly control or Peabody Fire to get us is the "fail safe" In case we shouldn't answer. Most of the cities and towns Rehab Five covers have the agreement with Roger to respond on a worker and some on a 2nd alarm.

Donations are the biggest thing.... From money to the volunteers. Rehab Five has received donations from City's, Towns, FD Locals, Call Associations, Relief Associations to just citizens sending checks in the mail. It's really what helps keep Rehab Five going. The cost of Rehab Five varies but its pretty much around $30.000 a year for supplies, maintenance Etc.

The Website pretty much explains everything. I know Rehab-Five is ALWAYS looking for more volunteers that meet the criteria so if your interested let us know.

Ya Rogers got another truck (can't resist free stuff) lol. Wilmington got a new Ambulance and traded the Rescue in on the condition that the Emergency Vehicle Co. would turn around and donate it to Rehab-Five. So it has just come out of the body shop and is now being worked on to go into service. Pics to follow. Although Wilmington is outside of Essex County Reger is still more them willing to respond if they call.

Speaking of Rehab 5, here are a few of their vehicles from various fires and events.

Here is one, I'm unsure if it's unit number and year.
