Do you have any photos of the two Pioneer III ALF's at 1's and 2's or the Open Top International pumper and tanker that ran from 2's?

Steve. I have a photo of it some where I seem to have lost them. It might have been, it was a 1950's International R so a 1957 would be about right. I took the photo in 1987 and she was still there at 2's in the north bays and still there in 1990 but after that anyone knows. I believe Gainsville cleaned house with the old rigs in the mid to late 1990's. Sad very sad. I always stop in Gainsville on the way to DFW and have a cup of coffee with the guys at old No1 now called No3. Great guys, but they have had so much turnover in firemen that know one remembers the Seagrave or even the ALF's and those that do really can't shed much light on years.

Steve thanks for posting the photos. They look great man great memories.
I know Addison ran a 1960's Snorkel that was solid red. Why did they switch to White? This Sutphen Tower Ladder and the matching pumper were repainted white over red at some point. Why did Addison drop the Real Federal Q2b Siren on the two newer Pierce Ladders and the Hackney Rescue. Thanks for posting I really enjoy seeing the old DFW Metroplex fire rigs.

San Antonio had two 1952 Mack B85 pumpers. My notes show one of these was sold to the LaVernia, TX VFD in 1979 while the other went to the Waelder, TX VFD in 1983. I have a VIN for the Waelder rig (ENF707B20874) but nothing beyond this. The '52 Mack photo from Duane Troxel's collection shows either this rig at Waelder or the one that went to LaVernia.

Just got word today from a GFD Captain that one of the ALF Pioneer III's was sold to Moss Lake Volunteer Fire Department, NW of Gainsville. Also heard rumor a number of times from GFD Firemen the other ALF Pioneer III went to Lindsey, Texas Volunteer Fire Department west of Gainsville.

thanks for the info. the number for the Waelder rig is the motor serial number(ENF707B is the motor type). hopefully we'll figure it all out soon for sure which went where.
That San Antonio 1952 Mack 750/300 (later a 500 gallon water tank was installed) was Mack serial #85LS-1596 and was at Engine 39 when Duane visited in 1976.

This is the first the Smeal for AFD. They have had a number of issues with their last three Quints from another mfg. So they decided to switch and try Smeal.
Arlington Fire Department Quint 1 aka Truck 1 responding from Central Fire House on a box alarm to Arlington High School. Engine 1 was out on a first aid call so Engine 3 filled the box.
