Pacific chasis 12 wheels for the 167 and freightliner 6 wheel for the rest of the bronto fleet, except the ex St. Laurent this one was on a Simon duplex 10 wheels chasis. At this time only 4 bronto are in service in Montréal. A rumor for a

purchase of 4 new in the year to come.

More than a rumor.l The specs have been done. Because there is now an alternative to Bronto the purchase will have to go to tender. We probably won't seem them until 2011 or 2012.

I guess these worked out for the Department. I always wondered about the other Bronto owners, I even was thinking of contacting them about these rigs.

Very popular!! Honestly, I'd say that most departments down here have a least one in their fleet.

go2evryfyr,

no pump, it's standard Braun box mounted on a Spartan Furion chassis.

Thanx, Alex- I was looking at the pix, figuring they saved space in the Firehouse due to no 'nose' on them like the old Ambo's.........

Most likely what she saw was a few of the (14) to be delivered Spartan/Braun rescue(ambulance) trucks that are due.I know of nothing else as far as engines, aerials, or other for future orders.

[/quote]

Well I found out what she saw. 2 Peterbilt tandem Cabover tractors with tandem trailers. One is a communications unit the other is a support unit. Both built by Elite Custom Coach.

Wing1223,

Correct! I saw them both during the superbowl and to my understanding they're being stored at Homestead Air Reserve Base.
