Based on the grille alone, that was either a 1971 or 72 Suburban.

It's an AERO CHIEF. The generic term would be Articulating Platform. Check the website:

After your photo was taken, it was repainted yellow. Registration #7-1-1697 was later sold to Bonham, TX and repainted red again. Also, thanks for posting the Richardson WLF, Spec #80-229, I had never seen a shot of it before. This first photo is a 1963 Ford/FD built grass truck (1A-Wagon).

Here is one of Richardson's reserve engine back in the 70's-early 80's. It's a 1953 GMC/General, 750-300. It was one of 2 but I never was able to get the second one photographed. Richardson is a northern Dallas suburb which presently has 6 stations for those of you not familiar with the area.

This is another reserve engine, a 1958 ALF, 750/300.

Richardson got into the paramedic business back in the 70's and this was a reserve ambulance which served as a BLS unit prior to the transition. 1975 Chevy/Summers (ex.-Amb. 31).

This was one of two engines that were stationed a Central Station back in the 70's. 1-Engine was a 1972 ALF, 1000/500. Can anyone refresh my memory and tell me what the spherical tank just in front of the hosebed was for? I think it mixed foam with water????

This would be a C-95 as it has a 1000 GPM pump. A C-85 would be a 750 GPM pump.

Yes, there were a lot of ALFs out and about in the area.

Sorry I had to end my posting last night. Here are some more photos. First is Richardson's first Truck Co. I believe. It was a 1967 WLF/HiRanger, 75 ft. (1-Truck). Back then it had a 2 man crew. The engines had 3 man crews.

Here's 4-Engine, which was a 1968 WLF, 1000-500.

This 1981 Ford/FMC 1000/500, replaced 8-E Mack.

In 1979 Richardson replaced 1-Truck with this 1979 Hendrickson/E-One 106 ft ladder and moved it to Central Station.
