i will answer both questions. The name on the truck i dont remember exactly but it was a black in color peterbuilt and i do recall it was from altona maybe you could try there at the truck dealership.



As for E33 and T49 they are still in the firehouse that the movie was shot in. The E33 at the acadamy that was cut up was a double. It was also lettered for E13 for the movie. As far as I know that engine is still down there cut in two.

Oh for crying out loud. A year goes by and as far as the collector/buff/public world knows E33's Sutphen was cut to pieces, and nobody comes clean until now? Thats cold.

the real Engine 33 that was in the movie is still alive and well sitting in the station with Truck 49. The one that was cut up was even featured in previous pages in relics. The fate of those two pieces are unknown. Baltimore may hold on to them one day and the next they dispose of them. Who knows. But again E33 and T49 are still alive living in the station the movie was filmed in. So you can come in off the ledge now. ha ha

This old girl was found sometime in the mid 80's near Washington PA. It appears to be Engine #24 from Pittsburgh. Any input???

This old Seagrave was in the same lot.

This poor ALF appears to have had a close encounter with a fixed object. It was lettered "Rick's Landing" in stick-on mailbox letters.

This REO Speedwagon was found for sale in a gas station parking lot in Arlington, VA. I do not have any further info...

This 1950 era Howe was also found in Virginia during a early 1980's trip.

Can anyone from Frederick County, VA identify this old girl?

This Steamer was in the rear of Charleston, SC HQ at the time of this shot. A plate on the rear of the boiler indicates that it was Engine #8.

This C Model Mack was also in the bay. It was modified to say "No. 11", but I don't think that was it's original assignment.

This Ahrens Fox was apparently under renovation at the time. Sorry for the ugly mug blocking the shot. Judging by the hair style, this must have been about 1984. (The hair is grey or gone, now... new style... <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/shrug.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> )

that K in Rick's Landing must have been an add-on. it looks different than the other letters.

This oneshould be one of the 3 1964 Seagraves they had.

You are correct. I was trying to read it off of the print. As I now remember it... It was RICES Landing. Thanques...

This Mack CF last saw service as Horry County, SC Engine #71 at the old Lake Arrowhead station between Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach. It was replaced by an E\-One Hurricane. It was originally FDNY Engine #211 in Brooklyn. When it came to SC, the Lake Arrowhead station was Station #2 which made old E-211 become E-21. LA became #7 after the county changed the numbering system.

This former FDNY truck served as Horry County Ladder #2 and later designated Truck #74 after the county numbering change. I don't know the FDNY history or where it went after HCFD. I know that the brakes went out and it never saw service after that. I believe "The Great Billy-Bob Burns" was the last to drive it.

This is one of two aerial devices in the nation of Aruba. It is parked on the lot at their headquarters station in Tanki-flip, just outside of Oranjastad.

Rice's Landing, PA. is in Greene County, along the Monongahela River.

Post #951 was a familiar sight back in the 60's and 70's - this was a 2nd hand rig that Hyndman, PA. (Bedford Co.) ran along with their 1942 Mack until 1975, when both were replaced by a 75 Ford F-750/Stinebaugh. (Thanks for the pic!)

This mid-50's Duplex/Howe Defender then sat for a few years along U.S. RT.522 between Berkeley Springs and Winchester, VA. at an old truck stop- service center, got extremely rusty, and disappeared by the early 80's.

Post #952 looks to be x-Greenwood VFC, and was probably a 2nd hand rig, since this vfc was not formed until around 1970.
