Nice shots Terry. The artwork with the Rhino looks great.

When I was out there last week they were still uncertain of the artwork's final location. I heard on the tiller box was a good possibility is that what you were referring to Terry?

I hope to take a couple shots of the engine on Wednesday when I go out there. That is if it has returned by then. The second one is due in any day supposedly.

I believe they are going to be mounted just behind the access ladder to the tiller cab but was not told exactly other than "By the ladder on each side"and that they were trying to get it done before they came to pick it up at 2:30p.m.

At one time, Leesburg had one fire station and owned three ladder trucks. A new E\-One 110' rearmount had been delivered and the FD was operating two tiller trucks. Not long after the E\-One arrived, the two tiller trucks were sold to the Baltimore City FD.

I have borrowed this photo from the Leesburg FD which shows the three ladder trucks in service.

I had the unique opportunity yesterday to be a part of repeating history in Leesburg. I visited Leesburg's open house on Saturday to see the new Seagrave tiller and one of the new Seagrave engines that recently arrived at the dealership. Both the tiller and engine were brought down to the fire station for open house.

Over the last several years, I have worked with Leesburg's Chief and doing a variety of magazine articles about Leesburg for The Virginia Fire News magazine. We had talked about getting a group picture of the ladder trucks when the new Seagrave tiller was delivered. When we saw each other at open house, he mentioned to me that this might be the last opportunity that all of the Leesburg ladder trucks would be in Leesburg. After the open house, we made arrangements to have drivers for each of the ladder trucks and get group photos.

It was challenging because it was getting late in the day and the shadows on the apparatus was making it difficult for photos. However, the new Seagrave tiller was heading back on Monday for continued work to get it ready for service.

It was neat having all of the ladder trucks follow each other through town to the photo site - a local park in the area.

We wanted to "re-capture" the earlier photo of the three ladder trucks at Leesburg. The older photo at the two tillers on the ends and the E\-One in the middle. Yesterday's photos also had two tillers on the ends and the E\-One in the middle. The new Seagrave tiller is on the left, the E\-One rearmount in the center, and Leesburg's Reserve Truck 1 (used for driver training) on the right.

...and we had the opportunity to "one up" the three Leesburg ladder photo. Since May of this year, Leesburg has been operating a loaner Seagrave Concorde rearmount ladder truck for Truck 1. It is marked up as Leesburg and has been filling in for the E\-One rearmount because of mechanical issues. Once the E\-One's mechanical issues are fixed or the new Seagrave tiller goes in service, the Concorde will be returned to Seagrave.

Here is the photo of all four ladder trucks at Leesburg.

One more of the four ladder trucks.

I was hoping I would have the opportunity to get some real nice photos of the new Seagrave tiller. Unfortunately, it was just getting to late in the day and the shadows were tought....so those photos will have to wait.

Loving Loudoun County fire and rescue apparatus history, this was a real treat.

Great shot Mike!

Also, I'm glad to see the Roto-ray is back on the Leesburg TDA.

Rescue29Engine23,

Yes, the Seagrave Concorde now being used by Leesburg is ex- Baltimore City Truck 15.

Leesburg has two new Seagrave engines arriving. They should be at Fesco with equipment to be mounted and lettering/striping.

I was at FESCO yesterday and grabbed a couple shots. The first is a pic of the artwork now installed on the tiller. It is located on the side under the tiller cab.
