I recently came across this one listed for sale. Does anyone know who owns/owned it and who may have done the rather spiffy-looking refurb?

Menands, NY FD Ex-E3 1963 Ward LaFrance 750/300 Ron Bogardus Photo
That flat aluminum strip across the top of the windshield appears out of place. I'm glad they went over to a more finished looking round front on the roof line in later production. That's the standard WLF front fender for the 4x4 or 6x6 versions of the Ultravision cab.

Could it be from Clayton, Del. ?
Eagle88,
I don't think that the Clayton WLF's had raised roofs. I was down there this year, but the WLF they had left was on loan to the Townsend FD until their new rescue arrived.

Mike
I understand the Keyport is one of the last East Coast departments that utilizes wooden ground ladders; do you know if the engine companies carry them also? Thanks.

It was lettered for "Engine B" Yes, that's a B, not an 8. Don't know why they did that though. Saw that rig on regular runs through my neighborhood when I was a young lad living in Quincy.
Actually, I worked on that rig when it filled in for Engine 5 in the neighborhood of your youth. It was used hard as a spare until we had a near miss while picking up forestry hose along the Southeast Expresswayfollowing an outside fire. Hope you saw the photos!
