This & That from Here & There
#41
On a sentimental note, that piece of blue car visible in the background is my 1992 Dodge Spirit. That was the last road trip with that car, it was retired with 280,000+ miles on it. It had been my "ride" for over 5 years.

When we visited Chattanooga earlier in the year, they told us they were putting eQ's on their new trucks. The only thing I can figure is this truck must have an eQ, a real Q2B, and an electronic siren. Three sirens on one Seagrave...what a beast!!! Now all it needs is a Powercall <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Thumbsup' />

That almost happened. Once I had secured it's replacement, I sold it to my #2 son. His 1993 Chrysler LeBaron (Spirit clone) was having transmission issues. A week later, he blew the main seal out of the Spirit's motor. The seal costs less than 5 bucks, but it takes 8 hours to replace it! After that was repaired, he drove it for another two weeks and then the ignition switch self-destructed. That was a more costly repair ($15), but only took about 30 minutes. He's been driving it ever since. I had retired the car because I felt it wasn't up to cross-country trips anymore. Guess I was correct. My son drives it about 150 miles a week, so it should last him a while. Oh, and a $30 transmission computer out of the local salvage yard cured the problem with his other car, so now he has a spare!

Ok, now back to the north GA/Chattanooga area trip with Jon:

My next venture took me to Nashville, TN and the surrounding area. I spent three days in the area and shot 48 rigs. Here are some of them:

Goodlettsville has two more almost identical rigs, but this was the only one I could get a shot of. E-41-6 is a 1996, #16162 and E-41-8 is a 1997, but with a 1250 pump, #17597. They all look the same.
