nice shots of some pretty interesting rigs! keep up the good work!
Dave,
I love shooting the Nashville area! We nearly crossed paths this time. I was in the Nashville burbs about a week before you. I was shooting some rigs I missed last year. A hint for Ridgetop...the Chief is usually at City Hall across the street and is very friendly about coming over and posing rigs. In fact, they now have Bordentown Twp, NJ's former Duplex/Grumman Telesqurt, which is on my list for the next trip. It wasn't quite ready for service on this visit. I also hit Kingston Springs, Pegram, and Ashland City. I'll post some of that stuff here soon. I'm not a fan of Springfield...I've shot there twice and have received very cold receptions both times at both stations. In fact, when I shot at the new station, both guys on duty were complete jerks.
On a sentimental note, that piece of blue car visible in the background is my 1992 Dodge Spirit. That was the last road trip with that car, it was retired with 280,000+ miles on it. It had been my "ride" for over 5 years.
Dave, may she rest in pieces! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
I know how you feel. 22 years ago I bought a 1986 Pontiac Parisienne, the same body that had been the Bonneville before it was downsized. By 1991 I had 155,000 on it and by 1993 190,000 which was when we became a 3 car family causing it to be semi retired and by the time I finally parked it in 2001 it had 210,000 miles. Some day I hope to restore it. Some years I would put close to 40,000 a year on it and I still do between 18,000 and 20,000 annually which is 98% pleasure driving since I live 3 blocks (1/4 mile) from the police station I work at.
