(Repeat from the Crown's topic.)
One of our fellow Firefighters just shared a couple of pictures with me this morning that he took during the Hope Heritage Days Parade two weekends ago. Here's Gray going by the grandstands.

Oh, you know you look good in them, even if they remind me of Grandpa's U.S. Navy Dress Blues. Hah! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />
A picture of my seven-ton sister taken from a little bit of a different vantage point. Sorry about it being in the shadow. I was on the ladder of our now-former Truck 11 and thought it made a for a neat picture despite the sun being on the wrong side.
Hey that's a photo angle I've never seen before.Nice shot Trina,Thanks.........................Bruce
Gray shared its garage with a distinguished guest for a period of time back in 1982. (Hey, I was six months old!)
The Ahrens-Fox was from Shelbyville, Indiana. It was a 1928 NS4, Serial No. 3333.

Why not just buy it?
Another solution would be to paint Big Green this color of gray. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

I don't think I'll ever have to buy it. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

No, no. The gray paint is for the 1948 American LaFrance 700 Series 85-foot Aerial we're on the prowl for...!

An ALF ladder now, huh?
Someday, you will learn that your way in life is through Mack. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

But until then, we'll enjoy life by way of ALF. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />
If you go back to the second page of this thread, you'll see the reasoning behind the ladder truck.

This must be Old Gray's big brother that you are pining away for.

Be sure to mark this down in your calendar, Lindsay. We may need it later down the road. In a conversation regarding this topic earlier today, I specifically heard, "I'm going to give it to you." (Or some close variation thereof.) <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

That's an old Franklinville (Franklin Township, Gloucester County), NJ rig. I never knew about it until now, though. Pretty funny how a former New Jersey truck had to go to Indiana for me to find out about it.

Hi Jay,
I know what you mean by not knowing about a local truck until it relocates. This one has spent the last year-and-a-half in Pennsylvania.
I'm working through all of the particulars right now. As soon as we figure everything out and get it moved to where it's going to be painted, I'll be able to take pictures of it.
Not seeing it in person first, I hope it isn't too scary of a sight when I finally do see it. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/22_yikes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />
What are you going to do, though? It's hard locating the "correct" truck for sale when so few were built in a specific time period. It's well worth however much I end up pouring into it. It has more sentimental value to it than I could ever explain.
Hey Trina,Glad you were able to find still another 700 ALF.Your plans for it are super!Hope everything works out.Good lucK!!!!Bruce

Just remember, I get the better looking of the two halves. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />
I'm looking forward to our first encounter with it in February. I think I might just stand out there for a day staring at it.

And this would appear to be the better looking of the two halves. The other side is missing its outrigger.

I think I've hijacked Ole Gray's topic with the soon-to-be Big Gray's ramblings. Ah, well. This will be a good thing.
Before I get back on topic, I'm hungry, Dad. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />
Thanks for posting the photos with ole gray and the Aherns-Fox.Some great memories there! What a thrill to open the garage doors and find both of thoes sweeties out there. My oh my,I was probally out there everyday.I had her to take of for about a month.umh...........If I hadn't have opened my big mouth to the wrong person I'd have owned that rig..........When I see thoes photos I can't help to think about how they look so different and they were only built 19 years from each other. The sleek lines of the 700 really make the Fox really look old......Bruce
