Critical care transports are definitely an interesting thing. I was part of one as a patient in late November 1997 from the ICU of a local hospital up to a rehab facility in North Jersey. I can't completely remember, but the crew consisted of 3 EMTs (It might have been 2, but I don't remember), an ICU RN and a Respiratory Therapist.

Sundog those Acadian units are something they have recently started doing. The medics have been trained in more meds and critical care techniques (using vents, cardiac care, etc.) I think right now they are only being used in the Hub City area (I think that is around Houma?). I work for Acadian over in Mississippi so Im pretty removed from that stuff.



BTW nice shot of that new Frazier. Those new cabs are sharp looking. My unit in Pascagoula got one back in the summer, but Ive been out since May so I havnt been in it yet.

We all really wanted a better picture of this truck, because its so neat! But unfortunately, the day we went up there, the thing wouldn't even crank! Apparently it was a starter issue & they had to take the unit OOS. Thank goodness they discovered it before they tried to take it on a transport!

Thanks for the additional info. Yeah, I just noticed the CCT units around April or May. BTW, the Hub City area is around Lafayette, LA, rather than Houma. I'll try to round up some more pics of Acadian's ambulances in this area.

Hub City is Lafayette not Houma oh well. Theyve got Lousiana split into about 5 different areas and I cant keep up with it. Last time I saw the Lousiana units close was a few years ago. At least they get the nice green/white paint. Our Mississippi units have to be white with an orange stripe which is ugly,
