COG thing or MCFD thing?[/quote]

John is correct. COG, us and PG County went to COG numbering about 2 months ago. Everything carries its station # with a 7 in front of it. PG has an 8 in front of theirs. Then you get into Bravo, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, for multiple units. It gets kind of long and drawn out.
A large part of my collection was purchased from a GOOD man, John Floyd. I give him FULL credit on his work, although I may miss something. Thanks John. Also Scott Mattson, Warren Jenkins, Michael Schwartzberg, and Mike Sanders. Thanks Guys.

I was looking at this exact thread when a call went of for a Commercial Building Fire at a restuarant here in St. Mary's County, Maryland. So off I went,

Imagine my surprise when I saw this pull up.

I also got this, but it's very bad shot. (grabed the wrong camera and it had the wrong settings)

Yeah, the dealer took it down to Hollywood today to squirrel's tick house for a show and tell. And if he messes up my truck, I'll torture him! ;o) <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Hysterical' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' />

So, without seeing the thing up close, or any detailed shots, (Squirrel, I'm still waiting), I can see a few subtle differences from this batch and the last three we got.

First, cosmetically, I personally am NOT crazy about the gold stripe. I really wish it was white. However, I DO LOVE the all red! The first thing I noticed is that the AC units seem to sit further back on the cab, allowing the short light bar to be in front of it, on an angle. The last three units, the short light bar is behind it and comes straight off the side.

The Q has been recessed, if it is a real Q, in the front bumper. It has black rubber fenderettes instead of chrome. There is a compartment that has been added on the tractor, behind the driver's door. I'm guessing this is access to the interior EMS compartment. It's hard to tell, but I believe there are two little compartments on the lower, rear of the cab, right behind the steps to get into the crew compartment. Another observation is there is storage for either the roof ladder, or a Stokes basket on the exterior of the bed section, behind the sign. If this for Stokes basket storage, then I guess we just took 20 steps back. That's going to suck.

Again, these are quick observations, I haven't seen the thing up close.

There was a discussion in the Seagrave 70th anniversary thread about the "faces" of Kensington's Seagrave rescue squad, which was originally delivered with the "classic" Seagrave waterfall front grille.

Now here it is, sometime in the mid-60's (judging by the adjacent ambo) the front end has single headlights and rounded front fenders.

Sometime before 1970-71 when it passed from Kensington to Burtonsville , it was rebuilt in the front end with the double headlights, as in this pic from mdmodeler's collection.

Question is, when was the date of each rebuild and why? Kensington also rebuilt their 1952 Seagrave TDA with the double headlights, so was this because of wrecks or just "modernizing"?

The Squad was in a crash and sent to Seagrave for a rebuild which was the new front clip with single headlights. It then crunched the fenders later in life and had the dual haed light fenders put on. It is now sitting in Elkridge MD at my friends truck repair shop. I hauled it there from Ct. for the new owner.

Anyway the Squad had a V-4 Detroit installed in it along with auto trans. The owner wouild like to put a V-12 Seagrave and 5 speed and the waterfall Clip back in it. I know where one is thanks to a posting by a Firepixer I just got to see if they want to sell it. Hope they do . It means another hauling job <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/fireman.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Fireman' /> I love to haul fire trucks <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/drredengine.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Drredengine' />
