I will start very soon but I built some of my collection from this site so I will blanket all of them right now. Credit to the original photographer.

Station 10 opened in 1969 and started off with a donated pumper and EMS unit. I do not have pics of these but they were shortly replaced and these units started running calls. If anyone has pics of EMS units or any info on these units (where they came from and where they are now) that would be great.

In the the next few years the DCVFD purchaesd one Ford/ Grumman Ambulance off the county bid and went to Station 10. Also a Ford PL custom unit was also purchased and went to station 13. This repalced the two Dodge Ambulances. The Chevy and Ford Ambulances in the pervious pic where county owned.

Thats Yellow and was the color for the PWCDFR units until 1996. Chief Michos changed the color to Red.

The eighties were crazy for the DCVFD. A lot new units and stuff plus the Famous Green Stripe.

Then this PenFab/E-one. This was orignally purchased buy the Yorkshire VFD but funding became a issue and Dale City bought it. It replaced the 64 Ford Ward and 70 Forn Oren. This unit was the first and only top mount pump and had a Mars 888 light. This unit also never recived a green stripe.

This unit was hated by many and was the first to be replaced when the 87 Eones were purchased. I will post more later.

In the early 80's it was decided to referb the Hahn pumpers. It was also decided that the Green stripe that the EMS units have been sporting since '67 (Thanks to the Ashland VRS) will be placed on all Dale City units and became the department's offical paint scheme.

During this time the Chevy pick ups were repalced with two full sized Ford Bronco's 83 and 84 models. The Pontiac LeMas was replaced with a Chey Caprice Station wagon. I do not have pics but if anyone has any post them here. I am trying to get some from members during that time. Tomorrow 1987 when everything changed.

One of these things is not like the others. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/fireman.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Fireman' />

Great photos. The Hahn has been in refurb for a while now, how is it doing?

I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT A UNIT DALE CITY VFD GOT IN 2006. RESCUE ENGINE 510, WAS THAT THE 1997 Pierce SABER THAT LYNCHBURG LIFE SAVING CREW HAD AS RESCUE 9 OR IS IT ANOTHER UNIT DALE CITY RUNS?

THANKS.

To answer your question, no, This is Engine 510, the rescue engine. Dale City did purchase the Pierce from Lynchburg and it is being refurbed to fit the needs of Dale City as a support unit. It will carry the confined space equipment that has always been carried in a trailer, as well as some spill containment equipment and rehab supplies. This may have changed since I left. Drfeelgood can add or correct my info.
