Engine 34-102 IS STILL IN SERVICE!!!

In early 2006 she was at North Branch Fire while their 2002 Seagrave was under going repairs from getting too HOT while operating at a major fire. "102" was returned to GK and is still operating as a spare/reserve engine out of station 2.
Heard this was sold off to Hunterdon County Training Center earlier this summer. Will try to get photos and more info.

I wonder if Hawthorne's late long time chief, Jim Aldi, bought that from the borough then donated it to St Barnabas Burn Center in Livingston NJ? He attended our North Jersey Volunteer Firemen's Association meetings for many years, with me remembering him often speaking on behalf of that great institution. Mr Aldi was quite wealthy from his family business and was known for his generosity.

Any one know where it is from?

Union Fire Company Number 1 of Lambertville, NJ. This is a 1923 Fox. The company was going to give it to the State Fire Museum and there was some issue because was in stroage and then was going to be sold off. The Company went through a big leagal battle and got the rig home.

ALSO in 1981 the engine sat in the back part of the bay as the firehouse burned. The members threw covers over her and she survived with very little damage. The rig still comes out for the City's (Hunterdon County's ONLY CITY) Memorial Day Parade every year and runs on her own power!

The "Cream" color is really a white laquer base paint that has faded over the years. ALL rigs in this Company are painted to MATCH the Fox!!!
A spin on this Company...

This September found a new Ladder being delivered. The City has 4 Companies. The Ladder Company (Fleetwing #3) had used WHITE as a color for its long years of Motorized rigs. The last was a 1980 Mack Tower Ladder. In 2006 Fleetweing sould it's station house and moved to Union #1... The New American LaFrance Mid mount Tower Ladder came in MATCHING ALL OF COMPANY 1's RIGS!!!!

Good old stuff as always, Scott. That 50's Chevy looks like it might say Mannington Twp in Salem County. Unfortunately, I have no info on it.
