This building is directly across the street from the Ex-Headquarters and I am betting was an OLD time station.

If you get the chance there is another old Lancaster City firehouse on S. Queen St. It's on the left side of the street, maybe 500 or 600 block? It's now a private residence. You'll know it as soon as you see it. I was also told there used to be one on N. Queen St. but I have never been able to tell where it is.



Station 1 houses Engine 1, Truck 2, and the shift OIC.

Station 3 houses Engine 3, Truck 1, Reserve Engine 6, and the Command Van

Station 4 houses Reserve Engine 5, The Shop Truck, and the Foam Trailer

Station 6 houses Engine 2, and used to house Reserve Engine 4 (recently sold)



Retired Headquarters (N. Duke St.) housed Engine 5, The Rescue, and the Chief's vehicles

I am told the old Station 1 (Lancaster Opera House) used to have a full archery range in the basement for the firemen to use.





I need to give you a correction for your files. Goodville is Station 3-6. Martindale is Station 3-10.

I was able to get out today and shoot Bareville and Upper Leacock as well. Here's what I got.

I was able to get a few shots inside the firehouse. I thought this was interesting. Upper Leacock was able to restore their old Watchdesk, bell, and red exterior light. They use the watchdesk today for their reports and they still ring the bell once the units have returned to quarters and are back in service.

They have also restored the old signs from when they were separate fire companies. Leacock Fire Co. and Leola Fire Co. I believe they merged in 1981 to become Upper Leacock Twp. Fire Co.

Here is photos of two of my favorite firehouses. The Reily in Harrisburg which is now the PA Fire Museum and The Paxton, the only active 2 story firehouse left in the city of Harrisburg and is the home of Tower 3, the "Downtown Trucking Company"
