The 200 is driven by an engineer. Sometimes a FF rides alongside to help lay a line.



300 is numbering system they use for engines over 100 and its part of the light force. For example LF 102 is made of T102 and E302.

Also this is a term used mostly by the Los Angeles CITY Fire Dept. The LA COUNTY (Emergency!) uses Quints.

The Light Force is comprised of a Truck manned by an A\O Capt and 3 FF's the 200 Engine is manned by an Engineer and 1 Firefighter

So a Light Force would be T4 and E204 when Engine 4 is added into the equation they become Task Force 4 , Engine 4 is manned by 1 Engineer, 1 Captain and 2 Firefighter's at a Station with a Task Force the Truck captain is in charge

When on a response the task force will respond in the following formation with the truck in front station engine behind the truck and 200 engine behind the station engine

Well first of all the task force term in LAFD and LACoFD is very diffirent I explained the LAFD Task Force concept I will explain the LACoFD Task Force concept



In the LACoFD they run USAR and Haz Mat Task Force's

A Usar Task Force is comprised of 1 3 Man Engine 1 3 Man Usar and a rescue tender driven by the USAR FF, So E103, USAR 103 and Rescue Tender 103 make up USAR Task Force 103 if there is a first alarm fire in there district the USAR TF will go all remaining fires the USAR TF will come in on a 2nd alarm



A Haz Mat Task Force is comrprised of 1 3 Man Engine and 1 5 Man Haz Mat so E105 and Haz Mat 105 make up a haz mat task force and the response is the same



In the LAFD a Structure assignment will be comprised of no less than 1 Light Force or no Less than 1 Task Force with about 2 Task Force's being sent on a first the number varying on the location

LACoFD also uses the term "Light Force" as they have several stations that run as a Light Force. An example would be FS 170 and the imfamous FS 127 of Emergency! fame.
