Adding on to GA Dave's reply to this quote and the Clemmons posts, I think some of those Clemmons Engines are still inservice. The Pumper/Tanker that is inservice with the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department, which annexed Mount Tabor Volunteer Fire Department, that used to be Engine 220 if I am not mistaken, and it is stationed at Station 21 because of Collapse 607(Winston-Salem Rescue Squad) and Forsyth County EMS Unit 20 are stationed at Station 20, therefore making the C Cab and the Rescue(1992 Volvo/Swab if I am not mistaken) stationed at 21. I was there November 2006 and had a chance to crank that truck up, it is a 1986 model. Sounds very nice! Here is the only pic I got of it, with my old camera.







I also have a picture of Engine 121, and partial shots of Engine 221 and Engine 120.

Here's one for you. Somewhere in Bucks County, PA maybe Langhorne or Penndel once had a Heavy Rescue called "The Monster." This rig was a rescue box with a Ford C-series cab integrated into the body, and was painted white over red. The wheelwell of the cab was covered over and a new wheelwell was put in behind where the cab sat. I saw it sitting in a parking lot next to Business Rt. 1 in Penndel after it had been retired but unfortunately I did not have my camera with me. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/banghead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Does anyone know the rig I'm talking about?

I believe I remember the rig you speak of. It has been posted here before, but I don't recall who posted it. If memory serves, it was built by Bruco. I'm sure someone will repost it or remember more.

I posted the Monster... Clearfield PA out in the west end of the state. Not sure of the one in the Bucks County area... Here is the one from my Grandfather's old Fire Dept.

Info on the Clearfield rig:



1972 Ford C-900/Bruco, full cab, 4X4 custom walk-in rescue, 534CI gas motor, 5-speed manual transmission, HP/280, two high pressure lines, Napco 4x4 system, 6.5KW generator, front & rear winches, A-frame, could seat ten men in the box or could transport 4 patients if need be. Cost $45,800 new. It was purchased used by the Thorndale Fire Company (Chester County, PA) from the Clearfield Fire Company (Clearfield County, PA) in 1984. The Ford Motor Company called this “First of it’s Kind”. Thorndale had it repainted LYW. It was only in service a couple of years due to a severe rust problem with the body. It was sold out of the fire service in 1989. It was last seen sitting in the Great Valley Auto Salvage yard, Malvern, PA.

That's not the same rig I was thinking of. I later found out that "The Monster" served as Rescue Squad 18 in May's Landing for a while. Does that ring a fire engine bell with anyone?
