Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous
Apparently this interesting Arlington rig now is housed at the Falls Church VFD.

1988 Ford Cargo 7000/Hackney 18' body

Cherrydale VFD,Arlington Co.,VA.

This photo must have been taken right after delivery, note lack of warning devices.

Several years later, the unit is equipped with the full array of noisemakers and lights.

Terry - Tower 501 has been OOS for several months, and not for refurb. In that time a number of county rigs have spent time at FS1, including Quint 504, Prince William County Truck 519 and OWL Truck 514. In fact, the former Tower 512 was enroute to FS1 (to act in place of TWL 501) when it caught fire and was destroyed. From talking to some of the 1 Fire guys there is talk of purchasing the Orange rig as a city reserve piece. Tower 501 is scheduled to return to service sometime this week.

Hope this helps!

BTW - Can someone help me with attaching larger sized images? Is there a way to link an outside URL to allow for images to be larger in posts? I have both a Flickr and Photobucket accounts. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Engine 510 (Rescue Engine). This rig is one of the better Rescue Engines I have come across. Although Prince William County does not recognize Rescue Engines this rig runs as "Rescue 510" whenever the primary Rescue is out of service. VERY nice rig!

This rig originally ran as Fairfax County Rescue 411. It was then moved to the reserve fleet, and I believe has since been sold.
