I dont have any of them in my database. I had 1283 and 1284 as Ford C/ALF's from Lockport IL, so I guess thats incorrect. the one sold to Indian Hill Pa was just on ebay. Andy Leider bought it, so I'll see it soon enough to get the serial #. hopefully we'll be able to narrow it down a bit from that.

That was for a custom chassis with a particular motor. A Ford chassis built by ALF would have been 2-1-1284. Your info is probably still correct. Were all of Pittsburgh's ALF 900 4x4's open cab? The one I shot was a canopy cab, but I thought some of the Pittsburgh ones were too.

I'll take yours as correct, and try to research the others better.
Schmidt's Pittsburgh book lists 10 1967 ALF 900 "Invader" series 750/500, all open cab.
Assigned to Engs., 9,13,19,25,40,43,45,47,53,61; serials 8-1-676 thru 8-1-685 E-9 was 8-1-677, so not in order...
awesome info! thanks!!!
American LaFrance called their mini-pumper the "Stinger". In well over 27 years of chasing rigs, I have only managed to capture three of them.
Engine 18, Montgomery, AL Chevy K-30/ALF Stinger 250/250 4x4
Only ALF mini I've found is this 1982 GMC K3500 4-DR. 250/250, photographed at its current owner, Farmington VFD,Fayette Co.,PA. in 2002. It had just been given a refurb by a local business, along with work by dept. members.
The mini was originally Somerset,PA., where I also shot it in 1993.
I've shot one more. This is an awful shot of a rig I need to shoot again. West Macon Fire & Rescue of Franklin, NC runs this as their first out minipumper. It came to them 2nd hand from Highlands, NC supposedly. I couldn't find a Reg. # anywhere on the rig. Maybe one of you knows it???
West Macon, NC "1760" 1987 Chevrolet C-30/American LaFrance 350/350 Reg. # ??? X: Highlands, NC (maybe?) Andrew Messer Photo (2006)
Also Barnardsville, NC had a Chevrolet/ALF minipumper that they disposed of a few years back. It was sold to Dennis Taylor, a local firefighter that does apparatus refurbs & repairs and also does pump testing. Seems like Dennis told me it was sold to a man for some kind of construction work maybe? Not really sure where its at now.
