MS Paint Anyone! Fire Apparatus Part III
Barnstead, NH Rescue 2. I'm not a big fan of green fire trucks, but the Barnstead fleet is a gorgeous MG Green!

This goes along with a previous post of what a "more triditional" Pierce PUC might look like. I started by using a regular Arrow XT cab without the added length, utilized 1/2 high side compartments with the ladders on the other side, and finished off with a low rear hosebed. Probibly not something that you are going to see in the future, but a "what if". I used pieces and parts from many different drawings so I hope that I didn't leave anyone out of the credits.

Here is a look at the Pierce jut ordered by my company. Delivery is expected sometime during July. It will be on an Arrow XT chassis with a 1500 GPM, 2000 Gallon water tank, and a 35 Gallon Class A foam tank. Since it will have the ability to act as an engine or a tender it will carry a folding tank on the driver's side. The pump details are not accurate since we do not have the "official" drawings from Pierce yet.

Here is my representation of a real, fictional rig (yeah I know, confusing <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wacko' /> ) Based off of the generic Matchbox Real Working Rigs model, here is a Pierce Quantum Quint.

I was asked to draw up a version of my E\-One Tiller by another member of the board for the Quebec City Fire Department. It was pretty simple to change a few things around and add some graphics, so I did as I was asked.

Heres a 2010 E\-One 100' Super Tiller lettered for an undesignated ladder company of the Quebec City or Ville De Quebec Fire Department.

Syracuse never ran any Midi-Pumpers . . . all of ours were Minis, with small 250gpm pumps and 300-gallon tanks. Here's one:

...and here's a rather poor scan of one of the Pierce/Hendrickson rigs. We had two generations of these, the second generation was visually quite similar but featured 2000gpm pumps and TeleSqurt booms. We had seven of the second type. Again, I apologize for the poor quality but many of these drawings were done nearly 20 years ago when the medium was in its infancy. Some day I'll go back and re-draw them all properly.

Just for fun, here's how it all started . . . this drawing was done in 1987 on a Zenith DataSystems 8086 computer, drawn in one of the first (if not THE first) versions of MS Paint, pixel-by-pixel using just the keyboard. No mouse, no color - didn't have 'em yet. I did a few of the 1950's SFD rigs this way. Pretty primitive stuff, eh? Glad I kept 'em, though.
