The Rest of the Collection Goes to the Block
Most of the pieces I think went to collectors however a salvage yard guy was present but do not know how many he bought and from the last auction he is parting them out. I have no idea what will happen to the ones marked *NO SALE* this auction was swapped with another one that occurs on Sept 16th 2006. http://www.auctionzip.com/Listings/167062.html This auction is for calssic cars to be held at Pechin Shopping Village in Dunbar, PA. The reason why they swapped it was because of a fire had occured at that location and the NO SALE Fire Apparatus may show up at that one. Felixthecat I have no idea about the ALF Pioneer as to its orgins maybe someone who has a database can lookit up and I can not recall if it had any markings on it.

Quote:34.) 1982 Ward LaFrance From Avonmore VIN 80172 sold for $1300

Based on that VIN, that rig is a 1967 that originated with Newtown Square, PA. There were no WLF rigs built past 1980.

Quote:I have no idea about the ALF Pioneer

The Pioneer was from the Paintertown VFD in Westmoreland County, PA, just north of Irwin

The Coral-Graceton International/Howe was a 1962 and in service up until 2001. The motor makes a very bad rapping, possibly a bad bearing. It sat outside the fire hall for about a year before it was purchased by Mr. D'Amico.

The Boston rig was originally from Crafton, Allegheny County PA. It was still in service up until around 2000 (The picture I have of it is from 1998)

The West Newton Aerial was ex. Harrisburg, ex. Steelton in Pennsylvania

Sad to see so much history being bid away, but it is better then scrapping the whole collection.

I'll give some history on some of these, from the databases. maybe one of the new owners can use the info. I'll go page by page. first page 1.

rig #6, the ALF N753 is Ex-Bethel Park, Pa a 1959 ALF 1000/500.

rig #7 was bought new by Jefferson, PA. its a 1961 Seagrave 900KB with a 1000 gallon pump.

#12 is a 1954 still marked for the original owner Duquesne, PA.

#14 from W. Brownsville is a 1956 ex-Ebensburg, PA

#64 I have as a 1969 sold to Pittsburgh, PA. I did not know that Pittsburgh had a WLF of that era, so it could be a case as in the Baltimore thread, where the rig was listed as being sold to an "area" as opposed to a specific dept.

#67 is a 1952 ex-Williamsport, PA

Thanks for the pics and great info on the rigs, filled in several blanks.

<img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yourock.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Yourock' /> Great job,68Mack,on reporting on this auction! I would like to add some info for some of the rigs that I shot while in service.

ONO,PA.-63FordC/ALF 1000/750

Morrell,PA.-68 FordF/AMERICAN 750/1000

PT.Marion,PA.-79GMC/E1 1000/750

Punxsutawney,PA.-64ALF900 1000/250/85' xClairton,PA.

Bobtown,PA. 57 Chevy 1300 gal. x oil tanker

Some notes on some others; the Brownsville brush is a 62-65 Dodge PW, Hiller's Howe is a 67? 1250/750, and the tower from Connellsville has an interesting history- it started as a 1970 model for Detroit,MI., their 1st Sutphen tower! It was sold to CFD in the late 1980's and a new Duplex cab installed. After about 15 yrs. of service, it was replaced by a New Lexington quint owned by the vollie co. in CFD-New Haven Hose Co.

It's good to see the semi-cab Mack CF from Monarch get a good home!

Finally, good news about the Hancock,MD. rig; this 1950 Dodge/American 500/500 was Hancock's 3rd motor rig. When I saw their members at the CVVFA parade in Greencastle,PA. on Sat., I advised them that this truck was being auctioned that day, after recovering from their surprise, info was obtained from the CAFAA SPAAMFAA web site and contact was made with the auctioneers before noon! Hopefully a piece of Hancock VFC history will be returning to MD.! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Thumbsup' /> The Doctor

Mike who owns the scrap yard that bought the majority of the rigs that sold for low prices (700-900) asked me to point out that he wants to sell the 67 Mack (from Page 2) in one piece for what he has in it. His yard is located on Rt. 30 in Stoystown, PA...but I don't have the name of it on me as I sit here, maybe someone else remembers what it is called, they introduced him in the middle of the auction since he's parting out 18 of the WLF/ALFs he bought in the spring.

I think that might be more of a place-holder than anything else. It was the first image in the photo gallery to the fire truck auction as well.

I have several requests about the other auction but however I did not photo every piece but I will post the pics that I took of that one. But I will give all the info I have in one post complete with all of the info that I have (as I did before going by the auctioneers listing i.e. a 1982 that was actually a 1960's rig. Anyone with pictures or additional info is welcome. Since their may be a conflict in numbers Please refer to these as INV. # as the other auction was the auction order #.

My guesses are that bidder 225 is a scrap dealer as all prices (except 1) were about $800-$900 and the number of auctions won. I will go through my photos that I took during the preview later today and will post if I see that are acceptable. I only photo'd the one that I might be interested in +/-.
