Nice shots from West County Ben. Were they out at their new training tower behind house 2?

I see you're coming to my area to get pics now! The only thing you'll get out here are apparatus shots and your occasional MVA, that is unless you like running nonstop EMS.

All you St. Louis types...

Departments out your way seem to have a wicked thing for the Power Arc Warning Systems. Are they happy with them? Are they reliable?

My department is specing a new ambulance and we have a salesman trying to get power arc's nose under the tent here. Thoughts?

Thanks!!

Im personally not a PowerArc guy. I do not think they are bright enough during the day. Sometimes they arent even bright at night. The sweeping motion is good, but it gets you the same as a rotor, I think. Ive noticed that PowerArc seems to "burn out" faster than rotors or LED's.

The only place I see as a good place for PowerArc is in the front by the grill, where normal lighting is only forward. With PowerArc you get side lighting as well. For primary lightbars I would go Code3.

I think the City's Quint's PowerArc lights are pretty bright. they arent bad, i was really looking at them at the fire today. I love LED lights though. i think st louis needs some Q's!

Ben,

Any word on what or if St. Louis is getting new engines and Trucks? Is it still in the works to get away from the Quints and go to normal Engine / Truck companies?
