F.D.N.Y.
A bad day to try to cross Midtown. We were walking faster then Ladder 4 was driving.

Behind Ladder 4 was what I'm guessing is a spare battalion vehicle. Perhaps they put on extra units due to the congestion. Lots of "Q's" echoing around town.

Looks like Batt. 9 was using a spare rig. I recognize Joey C driving. He's one of the regular Aides in the 9th Batt.
The only MARC in 46 ENGINE!

Further uptown (at the reviewing stand on Fifth Ave) the traffic was much lighter. Here's an FDNY EMS gator.

Took this up in the Bronx. I think it was getting work done to it.

sorry no pic but i saw ladder 38 getting a new rig i saw it on the triboro with a unmarked spare ladder tailing it they were probably going to the rock. is this one of the 2006 seagraves or a newer model
Reply
L38 is not getting a new rig. there are no new rearmounts in or on order. the specs are not even done for the ones to replace the 10 1999 Seagraves that are in service.
Reply
Ladder 38 presently is assigned a 2001, 100-foot Seagrave rear mount. There are still ten 1999 units awaiting new rigs, Ladders 19, 24, 32, 42, 81, 123, 137, 154, 156, and 169.

It must have been, don't tell me......................another SPARE.

I guess I will repeat so there is no misinformation out there. THERE ARE NO NEW REARMOUNTS CURRENTLY ON ORDER/BEING DELIVERED/HAVING RECENTLY BEEN DELIVERED to FDNY. NONE. dont know what you saw, but it wasnt a brand new rig.

ALL 2006 MODEL RM's ARE IN SERVICE AND HAVE BEEN FOR OVER A YEAR AND A HALF.
