1951 Oren 750/400 Ron Bogardus photo[/quote] Ron's picture was taken when the rig was still in service. This had to be prior to about 1986. You can see the county ID plate on the front as well as the old radio antenna. The grille is a replacement as the engine rolled down an embankment once and hit a tree. I love the old Wheat Lights on the side. I wish we still had them for when we show the truck. We had the truck restored by Grumman for our 75th anniversary in 1989. Some of the guys who retored it were working for Oren when they built it. When they restored it they put an original grille back on it.

I thought that this shot had a shadow from a nearby pole. After scanning, I realized it was an exhaust stack. I am aware of only two ALF 500 Series rigs of this style. This is possibly x-Watervliet, NY.
Interesting, Cato bought my Departments ( Central Square- Oswego County) first motorized engine a 27' Selden/Buffalo. One of 4 or 5 trucks I trying to get leads on and still trying to locate. The Buffalo was sold to them around 1948, when our 46 Dodge/Sanford was put into service!
