Old Reserve Engine 69 a 1987 Spartan Monarch/FMC 1000/750 ex E 6 and Reserve Truck 41 a 1981 Mack CF/ALF 100' TDA ex Dover, DE T 1 sitting at Dickman Street's Junkyard.
Pic # 2 - Note Reserve Truck 41 has a 66 door that originally came off one of the old Baltimore County Reserve Mack CF Engines.
this 1962 gmc/howe engine ended up hauling hay at a farm the engine is from nuangola pa fire co of luzerne county ya just never know what you'll find on those back country roads!!!!!!!!!! always have a camera handy!!!!!!

I would guess that it's an ex-US Army rig based on the "DEH" Number. DEH = Directorate of Engineering and Housing, That's org that the Army Fire Services typically fell under until a few years ago when the Army began to have Base - Directorates of Emergency Services... Looks like the rear portion of an Amertek Crash/Rescue similar to that run at various Army installations...

I remember being at the station dedication in 1996? and at the time The Ford/E-One was solid red, assigned to engine 3. But as I recall the delivery of the 75 ft Quint put the E\-One into reserve as Engine 4, at which time former engine 4 (Continental) was disposed of. The Continental, which showed up around '79 was yellow (as in your pic) and was rehabbed mid '80s when she became E4. Most of the time our reserve piece was stored in the back of old HQ on Locust St. That's where she was when I came on way back when <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='  ' /> The E One was more of a lime yellow/green that massfirebuff remembers. I can remember a lot of friends of mine always asking about the "green" firetruck ... This rig was rehabbed in the early '90s, when it too received a fine red paint job. This rig was the sharper of the two, however the Continental's power plant was far stronger (though both were Cat 3208s) and I believe had fewer mechanical issues. I worked on both early in my career and I recall the E One's siren going on the blink every time the truck got wet! Stay Safe! Roadman

Roadman[/quote] Yup, thats what I remember exactly...the continental when it was Engine 4 sitting behind the squad at Headquarters. I remember the E\-One so well when it was engine 3 because it was over here in Beverly so often for mutual aid. Plus it's color made it stick out at any fire scene because by the late 80's or so lime/green/yellow were a thing of the past. In fact that may be the last non-red rig delivered on the northshore. I do believe we operate the only non-red rigs in the county, though. As a past member of the team, yes I do know what they did. The three main responsibilities were: 1. High Angle Tactical Rescue 2. Confined Space 3. Swiftwater Rescue Basically, anything that had to do with rope! Our other speciality was we were the first team, along with a couple of members from Anne Arundle County, to be the Washington DC H.E.A.T. team. We trained with the Maryland State Police and the U.S. Park Police for insertions by helicopter into remote wilderness areas, as well as being placed on roof tops of highrises for supression operations. One of of our members has had past equipment donated to Peru. I heard a rumor that the SETT truck may go to New Zealand...or something, I'm not quite sure.

Found this old rig sitting just off US-23 in Michigan North of Toledo Ohio. Anybody know anything about it. I know that it is a Mack MB.
I took as many pics of this one as I could. For you Ward La France fans this would be a project for you. This I found in a scrapyard off of Ransom Rd. in Lancaster, NY. This truck served the Seneca Hose fire company in West
Seneca, NY. I don't have any further info on this rig and I was hoping some of you might be able to help. |
