The lights where changed and the bracket that holds the light where cut down. Not sure why or who did the work. The lights don't look the same either.

Looks like a Whelen lightbar. Are they replacing the Federal Signal lightbars on all the new rigs?
People complaining about spam in the spam mail box... Huh, what'll they think of next?

whats the height limit on the lowest bridge on the Interboro?

Buddylee, Picture 5 looks like 3 foot switches for sirens and air horns, is that correct?

As someone said, they changed the Federal bar to the old whelen in the back?

And I heard that the new trucks are 2" too tall and alittle too wide for some of the older firehouses, can anyone confirm that?

You are correct with the three foot switches. I have not seen this before. May be some one else has. Does it work?

The lights in the rear. Was told that they are not in production yet so not sure if they where made just for the FDNY.

I think there was a problem with this truck fitting in some of the older fire houses. Again not sure if that is true. I hope not that real sad that the truck got built that way and no one checked on that. The only problem that I herd was that the rear lights and one of the spot lights on the front of the truck where a problem.

Does any one know if they are building the rest of the order and when they are going to start to come in?

There are a total of 70 trucks 69 are going to look like this one and 1 is a high pressure Engine.

Is E-3 a high pressure unit?

The 3 foot switchs are 1) Air Horn. 2) siren Q2B electric. 3) Siren brake for the Q2B electric.

Hope this helps.

The correct answer is yes! The FS bars on this rig have both inner LED modules and rotators in the outer sections. Don't know why, just saw it explained in another forum.

Also cannot answer if they are replacing the front FS bars for Whelens like the did on the rear. Seems like they would make up their mind before they break out the cutting torch and do such a crappy welding job on a brand new rig.

the high pressure rig is for E8.

I was told by one of the mechanics that the new rigs are too tall to fit in a lot of the OLDER firehouses. (beacause of rear light stanchions and rooftop box) He also said that there was a good chance of having the rooftop boxes removed due to height issues. Will be interesting if a new rig relocates to a firehouse it can't fit in <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Mellow' /> especially in the dead of winter <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Huh' />

Here's a shot of the new FDNY engine at the "Shops", taken by my father on a recent stop there.
