Either way that "Q" musta played hell on the guy in the sleeper!
Yesterday Firemag and I had been invited a military installation in northern Virginia to shoot thier apparatus. However, on the way there we got a phone call that we could not do the photos that day. So here we were, it was only 8:00 am, it was very foggy hwere we were at the time, and no real plan. After some consultation over coffee and donuts and the look at a map we figured we would head for the furtherest station away in Stafford County and hope that the fog burned off by the time we got there. So off we went through the back roads to the Rockhill VFD. We arrived at the station, there were cars in the parking lot, the fog was lifting, and low and behold, a peek in the bay window showed that one of the counties new tankers was there. BUT, nobody was home. So we headed to Mountain View Station 4 where the were career folks working. After shooting the rigs there they made some phone calls and back to Rockhill we went. From there on the rest of the day was great. We shot 28 rigs and lost about 4 pounds each. Did I mention that it was the hottest day of the year. That afternoon my truck thermometer said it was 103 degrees and the bank sign next to one of the stations said it was 101. Jerry actually took a photo of the sign. And just for the record, aroind 3:45 pm I finally said that it was time to quit. Jerry is very proud of himself because he did say uncle first. But, he didn't exactly argue to keep going either.
So here we go, first with the rigs from Stafford County. Wagon-4 2004 Pierce Dash 1250/1000/40 Job# 15517
Also at Station 4 was this county reserve engine. While still lettered Engine-9, it is not anymore.

After Rockhill it was off to Potomac Hills, Station-10. While enroute there, Squad-10 was dispatched a person trapped under a mobile camper home so we had to go back to the ststion after they returned from that call about 90 minutes later to get the squad.
