Well since you were a member of Finderne, I would like info on this Hahn.

It is possible it may have been listed under another name associated with Finderne, like stated in the other thread.

Ok let me see what my 25th Annv. book has....

Since its FINDERNE with NJ plates I would say it was one of ours... Anyone able to help ID the year and chassis? Or when the photos were taken???

FD was founded in 1944

1944 - Started with a used Waterous Engine was bought from South Bound Brook.

1946 - Johns-Manville bought a used LaFrance Engine and gave it to FFD.

1948 - a used 1924 Maxim was bought from North Plainfield FD

1948 - a FORD Truck was also bought Could this be the engine?

1955 - NEW Ward LaFrance engine bought

1961 - Maxim Engine bought new

1962 - a 500gpm HAHN pumper with 250 gal water tank was delivered or This one?

1964 - a 2nd Maxim bought

1966 - Chevy Panel Truck bought.

I think the Ladies might have justed used it as a support engine in the 60's at parades. I will see what more I can dig up.

The Snorkel was delivered on Monday Oct 21, 1968. It had a 75 Foot Boom, 208 feet of ground ladders and 3000 Watt Generator.

In 1972 another Hahn was bought... It was sold in 1998.

Yet an other Hahn was bought in 1982. This rig was destroyed on a call. It went into a vapor cloud of natrual gas and blew up. all 3 members survived. One was badly burned, one had an injuried knee and one was not injured.

After this incident... the Start of Pierce entering the FD began.

A Note on the above, This Hahn is from the 1930's. It may have been purchased used.

The same style grill as the Finderne Hahn above,

this truck was from New Milford NJ. NJ New Milford 1938 Hahn #6368-F

This photo shows the origional chassis/Cab built by Hahn. It was replaced with another chassis after an accident.

The 1938 may be the number of the new rebuild, I think the chassis was before 1938.

This photo purchased on E-bay. Origional photographer unknown.

Another shot of the New Milford Hahn. As delivered, Hahn factory photo

This chassis looks like the Diamond T chassis of the same time.

Frank - still looking for Finderne info for you... Records are not easy to use as they were kind of limited as to what was recorded. Have not found any old apparatus records yet. Have to shake the trees for some older members...

Do you have shots of a 1969 Hahn from Somerville, NJ that served as Engine 3 - West End Hose Co.
