Mike,
Thanks for that. I thought it looked familar: From Al Powell's files: 1953 Mack, Type 85LS, semi-cab conv., 750/500, 85LS-1699, replaced 1932 Hale, in 1955 equipped with two-way radio, 2 reels on top with Hardie gun nozzles, in 1974 sold to Lebanon Lakes (Burlington Co.),NJ for $3200-was first apparatus of newly organized company, in 1984 purchased by Wm.B.Meredith family-NAFA-long-time Langhorne member for $2500-no mechanical changes but very dirty-covered with pine sap from service at Lebanon Lakes in NJ pine barrens, in 2001 sold to Langhorne member and former Penndel service center mgr.for $1200-had been transferred to Rio Rancho,NM and managed truck stop there-used in Albuquerque FD parades and funerals.

Terrific photos and information as always. Thanks for posting these Scott. Too many good looking rigs to mention, though the CF from Delran is exceptional!

He does not shoot the apparatus any more but he gets all the stats of the rigs. He is a very friendly, down to earth person. |
