All 4 you posted (E1, E2, E3, & T1) are on Sutphen Chassis. Also they are more then like 100% made by the same builder... Not bodies are done on their Chassis by other builders.

Truly amazing. In 7-plus years of buffing New Jersey wetdowns (and the occasional parade) I have never been able to photograph an East Rutherford rig in decent sunlight, and up until recently, had never even seen several of them in person. Yesterday, I shot the entire newly-replaced front line, all in sunlight, with the exception of a few stray power line shadows. Things that make you go "Hmmmm..........."

Speaking of East Rutherford, does anyone know if they are adding extra rigs with the expansion of the Meadowlands, Xanadu complex. I'm sure that will keep them busy. Or maybe NJSEA is adding more to there small fleet??

Those are some sharp rigs and nice shots from East Rutherford, I've always had a soft spot for a Sutphen

If I'm not mistaken, it was the builders of the Xanadu complex who foot the bill for the Sutphens. Rumor has it they're looking to replace the rescue as well, and it's only a few years old. Not sure about any further additions, though.

Am hearing conflicting reports if the Sutphens are leased or purchased. Someone whom I consider a reliable source told me "purchased", however the argument of "leased" would explain why they won't let Ed May dress them up with a little artwork, like the rigs they are replacing had.

The 1995 KME at E-1 is listed for sale on ebay.

I work with one of the committee members who said they were purchased, not leased. The reason for the standard graphics was for uniformity. Since they purchased the rigs at once they wanted a uniform look. Also the rescue issue is still being tossed around. They are not sure what to do because most of the uses are given to other agencies..ie: SCBA filling to Hackensack UASI truck or Rutherford SSU and they barely use the FieldComm part. That remains up in the air now. They might scale down or keep it, only time will tell.

I was also told that Carlton Hose ordered new doors for the Seagrave and they will be mounting the Ed May painted ones in the firehouse. Not sure what happened with all of the Truck 1 paintings.

Those East Rutherford trucks are sharp!! I like the fact that they kept the graphics etc simple.

Thanks Andy, I didn't know if they would expand the Meadowlands Fire fleet at the very least with a few ambulances because i'm sure there will be a lot of ems calls.
