Unless there is a history of the company as a whole not taking care of the rigs and equipment (And lets face it all our departments have totally uncaring and useless stations across all shifts) then the company shouldn't be punished.
The Chauffeur should be brought downtown for being a dumba** however.
I don't buy into the depriving the community angle. If the new rig goes to 28''s then another community doesn't get its service. If it goes elsewhere then the community on 28's territory soesn't get its services. So its all a wash in the end.

A decision like that on the part of management would be "Totally unacceptable, careless". Shotgun management decisions like that lead to low morale, no productivity and NO support from the troops.
Ok, stuff happens. I am sure we have all done dumb things through out our career that we have all wanted to forget about. How about we learn from this, and worry about our own selves and our own companys. I know that if I was that operator I would be pretty P.O. at myself, and I am sure he does not want anyone else making him feel even worse. Get over it and move on.

Hey brother, how about some respect for the individual hm? What if one of their members was on here and read this? How would YOU feel if an incident occurred with one of your departments apparatus and someone wrote something like that? I'm sure you wouldn't like them now would you? Don't forget there's a lot of members of organizations as well as buffs here.. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/feedtroll.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
for some reason i thought they had a 79 american lafrance
43'S HAD THE 71 OSHKOSH/ Pierce THAT WENT TO 38'S. 43'S 79 ALF WENT TO SQ9. 72'S HAD THE 77 MACK. THER WAS THREE Seagrave SQURTS IN THE 80'S. I BELIEVE 8'S HAD THE 1985 MODEL , 43'S HAD THE 86, AND 65'S HAD THE 87 MODEL. 65'S SQURT WENT TO 57'S WHEN THEY WERE DISBANDED IN 88.
I will never forget Engine 43, that was the very first Philadelphia fire truck I ever saw. We were on a field trip to the Franklin Institute and I heard a Federal Q. It was the Seagrave Squirt truck from Engine 43... I can still see it screaming through the intersection!!!
