So, yesterday I went out to with the intention of updating my department apparatus in the Belle Glade area. I ended up not going the 40 miles west that I needed to go to get there, but went south instead. Most of the updates are just "boxes" but some of you are interested in that sort of thing. First up is Rescue 32's new rig, another of the 2008 International 4400/Hortons.

Next up was Rescue 31. Same model truck. Actually, the department just put 8 of them in service and I managed to shoot 4 yesterday. They are the first rescues with the chevrons on the back.

Next up is Engine 31, the former engine 34. It's a 2006 E\-One Typhoon 1250/750/30F pumper.

Moving on to the south, Rescue 41 has one of the new boxes.

Next up is Rescue 41-Bravo, the second rescue out of the station. It's a 2002 Freightliner/American LaFrance Medic-Master.

Moving on south again, I came across Station 44, a brand new station not even open yet. It will be cross-staffed temporarily with an engine and a rescue. Here's the station.

Rescue 44 is the former Rescue 42. It's a 2003 Freightliner/Medic-Master.

And last for the day is the Bomb & Arson Squad's Bobcat tractor and trailer. When needed, the Volunteer Division is paged and brings the unit to the scene.



Hopefully, within the next couple of days, I'll get out to the Glades and get the shots I originally intended to get. Then, I'll be in the glorious mountains for a while, only interupted briefly by a trip to Las Angeles for a few days with a gang of thugs shooting more apparatus.

Almost forgot the new chief's buggy. District 4's ride is a 2007 Chevy Suburban. You might notice on the push bar that it's got one of those funky new warbling, vibrating or whatever siren thingies.

I just finished updating the photos for our department's apparatus gallery on their website. Here are a few of the photos.



First up is Air Stair 81, the first such rig the department has owned, in use at Palm Beach Int'l Airport. It's a 2008 Ford F550 built by Stinar.

Next up is Palm Beach County's Engine 74, a truck acquired from Belle Glade Fire Dept. when we took them over. It's a 2000 Freightliner/Supthen 1250/1000. It's the only Sutphen piece in the department.

Next is a 2005 Freightliner M2 built by Ferrara. Engine 73-Bravo has a 1250 gpm pump, 750 gallon water tank and 15 gallon foam cell.

Last post for this time is Brush 72. It's a 2007 Freightliner FL80/Ferrara 500/750.



Monday I'm off for the mountains again. Ya never know what I'll find on the way or where I'll venture once I get there. Stay tuned for more.

Well, I'm back at it again with two small trips where I was able to get a few photos. First was a trip to visit relatives. I managed to slip away for a bit for some real fun. Oconee, SC Fire Dept. has this nice looking 1989 Grumman Aerial Cat 1500/250/102' Platform as Platform 1 #18205.



The guys were doing a weekly check on the truck and raised the ladder to work it a bit. I'm a fan of shots with the ladder reaching to the heavens so I got a shot of that in addition to the "wrong-side" shot of the rig.

The only other shots I got on this little venture were rigs sitting outside of the Holly Springs Vol. Fire Dept. in Pickens, SC. I have very little information on them - only what I could find by looking. Nobody was around to help. First was this old 19?? GMC7000/Local tanker loaned by Forestry.

Next was this rig. I'm not quite sure what it is as the doors were all locked on the truck. The only information I could gleen was that it is a 1993 International Step Van and is Ex-Kedwey and Ex-Keowee.

And last from Holly Springs, and formerly from Pumpkintown, SC, is this unknown year Ford 850/Pirsch 750 GPM bearing #PK25. Any help you experts can give on these would be appreciated.
