I don't know hardly anything about this one. I think it may be a very very old Seagrave (1920's model) maybe. No data plates visible anywhere though. No idea where it served either. Maybe some of you can help!

And here's another one almost identical to the above-posted rig. I think it may be another 1920's Seagrave, but I'm not really good with older trucks. Help, someone, please? It did have a marking as "73-0" on the panel just beside the driver's seat, but you couldn't read the former FD name. It has a 750gpm pump and an unknown tank. Seeing the 73-0, I'm thinking its an ex-Delaware truck maybe?

And here's a truck that really peaked my interest. I've heard about, and see people post "Ford Big Job" trucks from all over, but this was the first one I've ever seen in person. And an open-cab Ford Big Job to top that! The only disappointment was that there was no identifiable markings on this truck anywhere, and no sign of a former builder anywhere. Someone kindly removed all the pump workings and gauges, and there were no plates in the "cab" area. The open slot in the rear compartment door, for a booster reel, leads me to think this is an ex-Long Island truck maybe.

Here's a roadside relic we found in between Bostian Heights, NC and Rockwell Rural, NC
Waltham, MA "X Engine 9"
1982/1978 Ford C/E-One
1000/750
SO # 594 and 3318 (strange, I know...I'm thinking E-1 refurbed this beast in 1982 and it was originally a 1978)

I didn't shoot this on the Rowan County trip, but it is an ex-Rowan County truck that I shot here in my home county. Anyone got pics of this truck in service with its former Maryland home?

And here's "Field 'o Relics" number two! The same guy that owns Landis Plumbing also owns all these trucks. There was also a large brick building with 10 bays on it on the same property as all these trucks. If all these cool trucks are outside, who knows whats inside?!

And here's one we all scratched our head over. Its not Asheville, NC, or Ashville, NY, however I've found a record of Ashville, PA having a fire dept. Maybe thats where this is from.

And here's a relic that I found especially cool! Though, I'll have to post it in two photos, because the tractor & the trailer were seperated. The guy that owns all these trucks also operates the fictional "Landis Hook & Ladder Co." which has several tractor & trailer tankers in the fleet. Should Landis or any of the neighboring FD's need big water on a fire scene, the guy brings one of these massive tankers to their assistance.

The Landis Hook & Ladder Co. also has two other trailer tankers that are available for service. One painted red, and another newer Heil trailer, both of which I have no idea where they originally served.
Here's our last find of the trip that I can remember. Hope you enjoyed the photos, and if you have any extra info, or any add'l photos, please post!!!

Andrew,
Info on the Plumsteadville tanker from Al Powell's files:
1961 Fruehaf tandem axle tanker trailer with 5750 gal capacity, in 1977 bought from Swann Oil Co.-refurbished and rebuilt by co.members, equipped with 500 gpm pump and jet dump, placed in service in April, 1978, in 1990 - 1979 Mack R- tandem axle 300 hp diesel tractor was purchased to replace the B-model, in 1995 use was declining due to availability of more hydrants in service area and large size and maneuverability disadvantages-tank beginning to rot out, in 1995 tractor and trailer sold to Miller Hook&Ladder-Landis (Rowan Co.),NC
Andrew - did Atwell use the Mack tractor & trailer - or just the tractor ?
Many thanks,
Bruce

Andrew, do you have any pictures of landis' current apparatus?
[quote name='usonian' timestamp='1296877893' post='423827']
My immediate first thought on this rig was that it looks like the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree of Fire Engines. Poor thing.
