This is the commercial version of the 800 Series pumper. I'd say late '50's or early '60's. I'm sure that Ga. Dave will know... I've seen several commercial ALFs in South Carolina. Horry County had a whole fleet of them in the early '80's.

We've stumbled across two Fords in two days, but unfortunately, I don't have a lot of information to add for either one. The first is ex-Branch (TX) Volunteer Fire Department Engine 11. It's sitting off the road a couple of miles outside of Lucas, Texas. A rather large [url="http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x215/1949ALF/Firepics/Apparatus/tn_DSC00324.jpg"]spider[/url] had setup shop on the pump panel, and neither of us wanted to find out if there was anything else living in or on it!

The second is ex-Desoto City Fire Department. It has a front-mount American pump (Type UA 75, Serial No. A13044) and quite a bit of equipment still on it. It's parked behind an office complex in Allen, Texas.

Apologies for the poor lighting. We passed by the first one at dusk and the second one today as the residual weather from Hurricane Gustav was rolling into Texas.

While I did not have my camera, a sad end to a few FDNY rigs, as they will be cut up for scrap in a yard by me.

1 Mack TL MT8802

1 Seagrave RM SL 8803

2 Seagrave Engines, SP 9342 and SP 9365.

From the 9/11 decal on SP 9365, it looks like it was old E-201.

Would love to save the TL, the RM is in decent shape, but the engines look like they were scavenged before being sold.

MT8802 - L 159. I used to ride this rig when I was a young buff at 159 Truck. I remember when she was brand new.

Mike, if you're talking about the rig that was destroyed on Sept. 11th, I believe that it is in a hangar out at JFK Airport. From what I remember reading, they have alot of artifacts from the WTC that they might use for a display later. If it's not there, then it's out in the Fresh Kills Landfill in Staten Island.

Their '85 Seagrave ladder was out at The Rock as a training rig when I went through Probie School in July '01. It's since been disposed of.

Thanks Marc. I guess a small part of me needed to know...

I think the '85 Seagrave was what went in service with them after 9/11 until they got a new piece.

I was out and about yesterday. Ive shot this old graveyard before, but not with my digital camera. Dont know if anyone owns these or not. No real houses close by. There is a station about 1/2 mile down the road. It is located on SC 9, just outside of Chester. If this doesnt bring tears to the fire truck lovers eyes, nothing will. I tried to find dates, but could not. There a six trucks total.
