I was out and about today, and at the invite of fellow FirePix member "NealCraig" stopped by Pelham-Batesville Station 4. I mostly wanted to shoot their oldest truck. Thanks to him and Firefighter John Barnett. They also Got me the Hook-up for Greenville-Spartanburg Airport, possibly more depts in Spartanburg and Union Countys. Yippee. Since I am giving props to NealCraig, here is his ride Spartanburg medic 18.
Now for the reason I stopped by. Pelham-Batesville's 1968 International. Love the front mount pump. Sorry about the interior shots, but it won't crank, and we weren't in the mood to push it outside HA!
Also stationed there is PB Eng4. due to be repalced twords the end of the year
and PB new Brush 1
As I mentioned earlier, They Got me into Greenville/Spartanburg Airport. Trucks that I have wanted to see, as well as shoot forever. In these days post 911 near imposible. I'd like to thank Firefighter Lancaster for the tour. They had an interesting set up. All 5 trucks had extrication equipment. and the 3 crash trucks are also Spec'd for structural firefighting. They are also an ISO Class 2. Which is rare for an airport fd. They run alot of brush fires and medical calls. She said that the escalator in the terminal loves to eat people at least once or twice a week. This is their newest a 2005 Oshkosh.
Didnt take a shot of the Engine, have a better shot elsewhere, but cant find it now. Here is their Brush unit. They built it themselves.
Now for a few random shots from around, I haven't posted yet from trips past. Lets stay in Spartanburg county. Spartanburg city Eng. 1
Spartanburg city Rescue 1
Spartanburg City Ladder 1.
Now a couple of parting shots from the Midlands of SC. I will be there for the Fire prevention Parade in Oct so stay tuned for those. In the meanwhile. Here' Colunbia Fmr Haz-Mat 1.
and their currant Haz-Mat unit.
