The Norwood rig was originally a 1966 F model open cab. It was rehabbed in 1981 along with it's twin ladder 1 by Continental fire apparatus the way you see it here but painted lime green. Was repainted red and met it's demise at the great firehouse flood of 1997. Ladder 1 was sold to Greenville Maine and I believe has also since been replaced. Jim
As you all know, a handful of us just completed a "Firepics Invades Rowan County, NC" trip. Dave's posting most of the photos we shot in his "Shots from Here & There" thread. Killer shots of some incredible trucks, you should check them out! However, we shot almost half as many relics as we did in-service rigs! I'll post all our old relic finds here.
These shots were taken in a large field beside "Landis Plumbing" in Landis, NC. Seems the owner of the plumbing store is very into fire trucks, because he has all these, plus another field of relics I'll post in a little bit. (Unknown Original Owner, No Markings Readable) 19?? American LaFrance 700 ???/??? Reg. # 9636 Andrew Messer Photo (2008)
I tried to find this ol' girl on my list. My numbers do not go that high. Can you confirm that is the right Reg. #? OR... maybe someone has a better list.
could it be 9336? 9336 is Ex-Charlotte, NC, a 1953 ALF 700 series with a 1000GPM pump

That makes more sense... considering the other Charlotte stuff there.
Ran up on this old rig Wednesday evening in Prince George County...a real live 'War Baby'
Former Coast Guard 43 Ford/American LAfrance booster wagon. 300GPM pump, unknown what the original tank size was...has a tank intalled in, and taking up the entire hose bed. Also has a much newer looking Portsmouth decal on the officers side door. The rig looks like it's fairly complete, including lots of wartime painted trim.
1942 Ford-American LaFrance, 500/200. AmLaFr Reg 1528. Shipped March 1942
The Arlington Va rig shown in the junkyard in Roanoke, taken by Mike Sanders, has been sent to the scrapyard. It is no longer sitting as it has reached its final resting place. This engine ran as E7 in its heyday.
I found this old Chevy Chase, Maryland (Montgomery County) Mack CF sitting in a garage at Circleville, West Virginia.
Info I have is a 1979 Mack CF 1250/500 - old Engine 71. Mike Sanders Ashburn, VA

Mike,
What condition was the rest of the rig? I thought somebody had said that they were working on it and would be on the parade circuit? SUCH A SAD WAY TO GO!! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/22_yikes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/shrug.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

It did not look like it was in "terrible" condition - definitely worthy of a rehab. Mike Sanders Ashburn, VA

i found this old gal on the Londonderry Turnpike Aka bypass rte 28 in Auburn near the Derry line 1960's IH truck company, i do believe it served in NH as there was a lakes region mutual aid sticker on the cab, it was Marked as Ladder 2 and it looked like it did serve privately as a steeple repair vehicle or to that effect, anyone have anything on her
I believe that is an ex-Laconia truck. I think the current owners bolted the bucket to the end of it.
