No it is not four wheel drive. It does look like it sits up kind of high though doesn't it. It is not at the station yet and it will be interesting to take a look at it next to the 2000 Pierce Dash that we have in sevice currently. Here is picture of that one.

Nice looking Pierce.

Now I noticed that this has the same setup of LEDs as FDNYs Rescue 1 did. They put a platform to raise the center LED over the brow light cause it looks kinda concealed by the brow light, I wonder if Burtonsville will do the same or leave it as is.

Finally in 1984 the 81 4-Guys body was placed on a new Ford F-8000 chassis with a 1000 GPM pump. It would hang around until early 2000?

This was the previous rig's running mate for many years. This huge 1978 Chevy Bison/Oren/Grumman 1000/2100 served until about 1993, and I believe went to Greeley, PA.?

Yesterday, in Elkins, WV, I photographed a fairly large rescue truck, built on a 1994 PemFab chassis. There were no identification plates on the body, but it appeared to be a Ranger. I was told that it was purchased from Montgomery County, MD, but I was unable to find any pics of it in this thread. I'll post the photo when I get it developed, but I was wondering if anyone can confirm if this is a former Montgomery County rig and where it served, or has any pics they can post.

Old RS 15 I think from Burtonsville was sold to Elkins.

A large part of my collection was purchased from a GOOD man, John Floyd. I give him FULL credit on his work, although I may miss something. Thanks John. Also Scott Mattson, Warren Jenkins, Michael Schwartzberg, and Mike Sanders. Thanks Guys.

That's the one, in BOTH pics! Thanks guys! Now, the big question, who built it? Like I said, it looked like a Ranger, but I need confirmation.

Hi Dave,

That was my photo from Elkins (it is posted in the West Virginia thread with the rest of the Elkins apparatus). I visited the station earlier this year.

Yes, it is ex- Burtonsville, Maryland and is a PemFab Imperial/Ranger.

Thanks,

Thanks, Mike! I should have checked the WV thread too. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Doh' />

I also got a shot of the International/Smeal pumper, bringing me up to date on their apparatus fleet. Unfortunately, it was getting late in the day, so the shadows were an issue.
