Sloper-Willen Type III. Yankee Coach, as far as i can determine, concentrated on Type III's. Checking a builder's plate on a unit in ME, it stated the box was built by Providence body Co. 1987 photos.
Nordstrom's (Lynn, MA) "car 8", pictured in front of St. Barnabas hospital, NYC. The box is a Wayne all-steel (later, all-rust!) that was purchased second-hand from Marlboro-Hudson ambulance (MA). c1981.
I saw this in Marietta, GA today. According to the web, this is a 2006 Braun, from the Grafton Vol. Fire Department (www.graftonfiredept.com/apparatus.html) - in Wisconsin. Not sure what it was doing all the way down here for such a new vehicle. Looked just like the pic on their web site, other than the circle sticker just below the "852".

Looks like it might be a PL. We used to have a 1972 Ford F-350/PL that had a box very similar to that.
