Outstanding! Thanks! Don't see many (if any) H-34s in USMC markings these days. Don't see many H-34's flying at all (at least on the east coast). Nice!

If you liked the H-34, you might like this one (although its not a great pic). An H-19, which the H-34 is based on, flying over the Hudson River. It was part of the USS Intrepid's return to NYC and kept buzzing the carrier.

Now here's something I have never seen before. I didn't think there were any airworthy examples left - and it turns out there aren't! This is a 7/8-scale replica owned by Don Stills of Maine. Apparently he regularly pilots it for airshows & occasional reenactment events. Found it at Minuteman Airfield in Stow, MA while shooting foliage shots on Saturday.

It's owned by Erickson Aircranes out of Oregon, on exclusive use contact with the LAFD for the fire season.
American Airlines MD-80 gets an external visual inspection by Massport Firefighters after landing at Boston Logan Airport on October 20th after an Alert, turns out a cargo strap somehow was hanging out of one of the cargo doors prompting an alarm in the cockpit and a return to the airport after departure.

Constitution Beach, East Boston on Barnes Ave which you can catch off of Saratoga St, not a bad place to shoot from, just a little out of range of my 300mm lens however. One of my favorite places to shoot from aside from Winthrop.
This is a real "grab shot" if you will - I was driving down Memorial Drive in Cambridge MA yesterday and heard a loud noise. Looking through the sunroof, I was unable to initially determine what was flying - I knew it was a helo, but was it Medflight, a traqffic copter, a private ? The Charles River runs parallel to the road I am on, but I cannot see what it is.
Well it turned out to be US Coast Guard Rescue 6025 which is based at Airstation Cape Cod according to the markings on the bird.
So am stopped, on a major road trying my damnedest to get a shot of this beauty, when she turns and comes back over me. What a great sight!
