THIS 1951 CHEVY WAS ORIGINALLY PUT IN SERVICE AS AUXILIARY RESCUE 5A AT 12TH AND WHARTON WITH LADDER 11. THESE WERE THE FIRST LIGHT RESCUES IN THE CITY, RESCUES 1A-6A. 5A WAS MOVED TO 13TH AND SHUNK IN OCTOBER 1956 AND BECAME RESCUE 11 WITH THE NEWLY REORGANIZED ENGINE 49. [info hikeout] The book hikeout is available through firemans hall museum Philadelphia

It was assigned to Engine 71 when that company was organized on July 1, 1937. This rig was a spare prior to that. In 1941 it was placed back in reserve status when 71's received a 1941 Autocar.

WHAT WAS 71'S RUNNING AS THEIR PUMPER WHEN THEY WERE ORGANIZED? [/quote] Engine 71 was assigned a 1921 Seagrave with 900 gpm pump when organized. This, like the wagon, was reassigned from the spare pool.
ENGINE 43 1933 ALF 1000 GPM 1 0F 4 DELIVERED. THESE PIECES WERE AROUND A LONG TIME. I BELIEVE THEY WENT TO ENGINES 17, 32, 43 AND 70?. ACCORDING TO THE 1952 PFD ANNUAL REPORT, THEY WERE STILL IN FRONT LINE SERVICE AND THE 41 WARDS WERE ALREADY BEING PHASED OUT TO THE RESERVE FLEET. I READ SOMEWHERE THAT ENGINE 17'S 33 ALF WAS IN SERVICE UNTIL 1955.
TAC 3 1971 INTERNATIONAL WARD LAFRANCE. I DON'T HAVE ANY DETAILS ON THIS ONE?
ENGINE 43 1965 INTERNATIONAL/ CENTRAL. PHILADELPHIA'S FIRST SQURT. THE SQURT BOOM WAS ADDED AROUND 1970. THIS PIECE LATER REASSIGNED TO ENGINE 72. THE BOOM WAS THEN REMOUNTED ON THE 77 MACK.
Engine 55 1922 ALF hose and chemical wagon.
Engine 55 1926 alf 900 gpm.
That's not a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania rig.
