Following quite a few people's lead here on the boards (Shoop, Mark Carr, GA Dave, etc.), I guess I'll just make a thread here to showcase some of the things I uncover in the hills of Western NC and Eastern TN. Usually when I set out on a trip, its into uncharted territory as far as firetruckers are concerned. So honestly, I never know what I'll find half the time! Hope you enjoy these photos, and as always, feel free to add photos!

Does anyone have a photo of this truck in service with Knightdale, NC? I figured surely Mike Legeros would have a photo of it, since Wake County is his specialty, but its not on his website. The whole history surrounding this truck is somewhat of a mystery. It supposedly served Knightdale, NC as "Engine 4". East Hamblen County bought it from a used fire truck broker somewhere. And there was a sticker on the inside of the cab from a service center in Pennsylvania. Northeast maybe?

I know these next two are officer-side shots, but the parking lot wasn't big enough to start spinning trucks around into position. They turned out halfway decent anyhow! This first truck had only been delivered for about 2 weeks when I shot it. It replaced a 1990's GMC TopKick/Tim Conway elliptical tanker that rolled over earlier this year.

Maybe I can sneak this photo in here without getting shot at! This may say "AMBULANCE" across the hood, but it's also being equipped as a light-duty rescue truck. It's not quite in service yet, but it should be in service within a few weeks. The truck was bought used in the 1990's as a 1986 F-350/Braun that was white with a burgundy stripe. Supposedly it formerly served somewhere in Virginia?

Here are some photos from last Saturday down in Tennessee. The pictures aren't as perfect as I'd like them to be, but since no firefighters were at the station, I was lucky to find an EMS worker that could move the trucks.

This engine replaced a 1970's Ford C/Ward LaFrance that Dave Organ actually has a picture of. I'm not really sure where the Ford C formerly served, but it was second hand to them.
