Mark, The EC-135 is actually MAMA-1, based out of Asheville. MAMA-2 is a BK-117, based out of Franklin and Mission/St. Joes also has a reserve BK-117 that is currently painted in its former paint scheme because it came used out of La Crosse,WI.

If you notice, the flight crew from STAT Medevac are wearing helmets.
Who told you not to wear helmets? I have worked for three different medevac services, and that was never part of our education to EMS and fire crews. Ball caps are a no no, but helmets should be fine. Rob
