Austin, Tx Fire/Rescue
Austin's new fire chief is Rhoda Mae Kerr. She is the current fire chief in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The LBJ Engine is assigned to LBJ School. The LBJ engine is the old Engine 40.

Those two, plus the mini attack which is meant for the baggage operations and low clearance areas and other structural first responses, as well as aircraft incidents. They also have an older Oshkosh spare, which the word is will be replaced under the ABIA budget in 2009. I have a photo of that I'll try and dig up....

1182 Hargrave St C/S East 12th St., on the east side of I-35. If you plan on taking photos there, you must check in with the shop foreman first as there apparatus movement there is hectic.

Routine PM, as well as fixing some other issues while it's there. Also mounting some new equipment.

I was told that Engine 20 & Engine 28 carry 150 gallons of Class A Foam & 70 gallons of Class B Foam.

Thats my understanding that all new SpecOps engines will have that foam set-up. Course all of that could change with the new chief.

She comes from an all-Pierce department. Majority are the Pierce Contender brand (Pierce's value line, but still great quality and real value), she was even highlighted in a Pierce publication for her dedication to the Contender brand.

Also, it will be interesting because there are some spec changes being considered, and other apparatus manufacturers starting to become interested in the Austin area again.
