I completely forgot that Shady Valley bought the old 72/33! That's the first picture I've seen of it sporting the Shady Valley door decal. How neat!
Matt, I remember when Affton got the E\-One/Ford-C for 31 Pumper in 1985 and we got their Pierce as the new 33. That was such a cool truck to be on, with the rumble of the Detroit Diesel, since the Ford C had a gas engine, and the blue "Dancing Lady" Mars light up front bouncing off buildings and traffic at night. We really thought we were the s--t then! Too bad they removed the Q on it years before. And WHY???
Affton's reserve pumper (with the 4 headlights) was an early 1960's Ford C, not a Mack.
Live house burns for training in the 1980's: Too bad we can't have those anymore around here. What a great way to keep up on skills, since we don't have the amount of working fires like we used to.

Thanks for posting the info, dates and stuff Jeff. As you know, that stuff is not my strong suit. I just took the shots!
It later became 219, after running as Aerial Co. 7. I'm not sure what year the numbers changed; the late 1960's or early 1970's. We used to have a box of old run cards for some of the surrounding departments at our old firehouse, and 219 was shown as being booked in on 4th or 5th Alarms in Richmond Heights and Clayton.

Aahhh, yes, the heyday of the Seagrave fire truck in St. Louis County. Those were the days!!! Just about every department/district had one or two, or more, thanks to Leo Ellerbracht! I miss those days.

Is that Mack the one that sits in a lot just NE of the city museum with an old snorkel? It's a shame those have sat outside for such a long period of time. There is a Howe that sits next to a church on N Market just east of the 5s.

The Pierce was painted solid red after Affton sold it, but I'm not sure where it is now, and I never saw it in red. That was definately a cool ol' rig!!!
