Do you have a picture of the Mack after Ward79 rehabbed her? She looked very different post rehab. Not that she wasn't a bad looking machine before rehab, but she was one tough looking (and great sounding) Mack after her rehab. Wanna talk about black smoke...the sun would be eclipsed by her clouds.

Squad 22 is a real workhorse. 23 years old and still running strong.

Jay, Squad 22 hasn't had a hard life, about 250-300 runs/year. Slated for replacement in the next 2 years.



Ian, here's a photo from my 1st visit to United #3 back in 1991. The Duplex/Saulsbury squad was brand new, the Mack CF is in the background. The present Squad 3 (Pierce) does not, IMO, measure up to the "Beast".

Carroll County, MD Volunteer Emergency Services Assn bought, I believe, two engines as reserves for their volunteer fire companies to use when those companies apparatus is down. This is one of those reserves - a 2007 Emergency One Typhoon 1500/1000.

Rescie Squad 3 from United looks good, but I think it looked even better when it got its very own set of Aluminum Wheels. This unit, which was replaced by the current Pierce Dash is still hanging around the County. It is currently being stored at the Frederick Airport in the Counties hanger/logistics warehouse.



I heard that the County may be putting equipment back on it to use at the Training Center, or possibly use as a Reserve.



Either way, it's still a bad looking Rescue.

I was at the Frederick Training academy yesterday for a Maryland Council of Academies meeting. The rescue is sitting in the bay and equipped...still looks good!

I shot the rig about 6 times over its career, and do have shots with the aluminum wheels. I was unaware of the county facility at the airport, and would love to see it running calls again.

Yes, that fire was in Westminster. I was told that Truck 28 had to stop for fuel enroute to the fire
