Oh just wait John, as I have just dug up a ton of my archives, and I have got tons of interesting rig pics taken back all the way to 2000 by me, with many of those pics of rigs that are no longer around. Hopefully by this weekend I'll start to posting some of these pics for everyone to enjoy. I have got several of the old Ford C's from Macedon Ctr and Macedon too, plus many more interesting rigs.

Palmyra, NY had a 1949 Maxim/Young closed cab Quad. That would be my guess.

Palmyra is just a short distance away from West Walworth, NY

Here's a delivery photo of the Palmyra quad. After my analysis of the St Paul Blvd truck, (see above), I don't think I'm qualified to comment further.

Here's another piece to the puzzle.



According to my records, Palmyra's Quad S/N was 1671

(Maxim placed thier serial number plates, on the officer's side seat riser, facing out.)

I found the old Lincolnton, NC FD Engine 1 sitting behind a mill in Lincolnton. It is under a shed and there several items around it so these are the best photos I could get.

There were four trucks delivered to the IFD in 1980. They carried Thibault Serial #'s T80-396, T80-397, T80-398, T80-399......from the information that I received. All four were 1980 Spartan/Thibault 100'RMA. I have VIN numbers for these rigs.



There were also 3 Thibault/Duplex Mid Mount Aerials delivered to IFD in 1987, 1 Duplex/Thibault Skypod, and 2 1987 Thibault/Duplex RMA's delivered in 1987. I have VIN numbers for these rigs as well.

I think I'm a bit late on the "unique" colored Maxim, but it certainly looks like the Young body. That is one LONG truck and not typical of a standard Maxim body.

I stopped and spoke to the owner today. First $1000 takes it. He said that it has a knock but he thought it was a bad wrist pin and fixable. the numbers are : Model 24050 Serial 1671 and engine 2104939A. According to the current owner it was purchased new by Sodus Center NY and is a 1948 (by previous posts it looks like it was originally Palmyra). Anyone interested in buying it, the phone number is 315 986 1936

Thanks Larry for digging up the info for us. We'll have to ask SCFDFF if he knows if they ever had this rig at their station. It's quite possible that perhaps they may have gotten it from Palmyra, after Palmyra got rid of it. BTW Larry do you have any pics of the old Palmyra Ford C/ Young Snorkel? If so please post them, as I would love to see some pics of it when it was in service with them.

No I don't Jeff. I don't have that many old photos. Most of what I have are in the last 10 years or so. I do remember a lot of the old rigs (as long as oldtimers doesn't set in I'm set).
